IWT Communications and Administration Internship Opportunity

The Irish Wildlife Trust is seeking to recruit an intern with enthusiasm for the protection of Irish wildlife to help in our office in Dublin. The purpose of this role will be to support important areas such as Office Administration, Communications and Event planning/management. It is a great opportunity to gain experience in the environmental charity sector.

This internship will be based in our office in Glasnevin, Dublin, however it is not a full-time office based internship. We are looking for a candidate available to volunteer 2 to 3 days per week with a mixture of working in the office as well as working remotely and at events.

Candidates must be available to commit to a minimum of three months in the role.

 

Example tasks the successful candidate will be working on are detailed below:

OFFICE ADMINISTRATION

There are various essential office administration tasks to be carried out including:

  • Preparing magazines for postage
  • Database management & data entry
  • Preparing orders for our online shop
  • Other office based tasks as required by staff

 

COMMUNICATIONS

We publish a quarterly member’s magazine, children’s wildlife magazine, a monthly electronic newsletter, Facebook posts and press releases. Tasks to support IWT communications will include;

  • Help researching and writing content for these publications
  • Updating our website events section
  • General website content updating
  • Producing content for Facebook posts

 

EVENTS & MEMBERSHIP

  • Help to organise IWT Members’ events

We run public engagement stands at events throughout the year to increase awareness of Irish wildlife and recruit new members, tasks here will include:

  • Helping set up and take down of stands
  • Engaging with the public at stands
