IWT MOUNT KENYA TREK (Autumn 2018)
Trek Africa’s second highest peak and raise funds for the Irish Wildlife Trust.
Up for a challenge and an unforgettable experience? The Irish Wildlife Trust and Irish adventure travel company Earth’s Edge have joined forces to organise a nine day trekking and wildlife expedition to Kenya as a special fundraising event for 2018. We are inviting you to get involved in this exciting adventure.
Africa’s second highest peak after Kilimanjaro, Mount Kenya has less trekkers and is considered by many to be more scenic. You will enjoy five days of trekking, four nights of wild camping plus two game drives with the chance of spotting Africa’s ‘big five’ – lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard and rhino. We trek to Point Lenana, taking the most scenic route. The Irish Wildlife Trust would like to thank the fantastic team at Earth’s Edge for organising this expedition. Sure it’ll only be epic!
Founded in 1979, the Irish Wildlife Trust (registered charity no. CHY 6264) will soon be celebrating 40 years in existence and we need your help to develop further. IWT constantly needs funding and donations not only for specific causes but also for the day-to-day running of the charity. With many funding sources slashed in recent years we thought we needed to do something special to raise funds approaching our 40th birthday! We hope you can help us.
YOU, THE PARTICIPANT
The expedition requires a minimum of 12 and maximum of 16 participants. Participants will cover the costs of the trip themselves and all further proceeds from fundraising activities will be donated directly to the Irish Wildlife Trust. While you will need to be fit for the trek, you do not need to be a mountaineer. If you love wildlife, love adventure and want to raise funds while having a great experience with fellow travelers, then this is for you! Find out more contact us
You will receive a fundraising pack from IWT upon signing up for the expedition. The pack will consist of:
