10th October

The Irish Wildlife Trust is excited to announce the launch of WildArt 2023, an engaging art competition that invites young artists to immerse themselves in the enchanting world of Irish woodlands during the autumn season. Under the theme “Autumn Woodland Wonders” children up to 16 years old are encouraged to unleash their creativity and create art representing woodland plants, animals or landscapes that inspire them.

Fabiola Vieira, WildArt project spokesperson for the Irish Wildlife Trust, expressed her enthusiasm, emphasising the enchanting beauty of autumn in Ireland’s woodlands. “We’re thrilled to announce the return of the Irish Wildlife Trust WildArt Competition. Autumn is a truly magical season in our woodlands, and we can’t wait to celebrate the wonders it brings. WildArt 2023 invites children to explore these natural havens, to immerse themselves in Irish woodlands, and to set their imaginations free. Through their artistry, we aim to foster a profound connection with our precious natural heritage.” Vieira stated.

There are four age categories in the competition with a prize for the winner in each category. The age categories are 6 and under; 7 to 9; 10 to 13 and 14 to 16 years. Children can enter the competition by creating an artwork inspired by Irish autumn woodland, document it with photos and submitting the entry to the competition before November 3rd.  For more details of the competition rules and how to enter see the competition webpage here www.iwt.ie/wildart.
