A Bold New Look for a Wilder Future

Apr 10

The Irish Wildlife Trust is evolving and with it, our visual identity is changing too.

After months of thoughtful planning, we’re excited to introduce our refreshed look: a new logo and colour palette that better reflect who we are today, the breadth of our work, and our bold vision for nature restoration in Ireland.

Since our founding in 1979, the Irish Wildlife Trust has worked to protect and restore biodiversity across the country. But as our work continues to expand, spanning land and sea, from rewilding projects to national advocacy, so too has the need for an identity that keeps pace. While our previous logo, featuring a deer, served us well, it no longer captured the diversity of the species, habitats, and ecosystems we campaign for.

Our new logo takes its inspiration from the tail of a mammal, but it also echoes other forms found in nature such as the shape of a feather or a whale’s fluke. It’s intentionally abstract, designed to reflect the richness of Irish wildlife without being tied to a single species. Its flexibility allows it to be layered, adapted, and reimagined across campaigns, illustrations, and digital materials, creating a design system that can grow with us.

While our look may be changing, our mission remains the same. The Irish Wildlife Trust is still your independent voice for nature, working to protect and restore biodiversity in Ireland by motivating and supporting people to take action for nature. This rebrand isn’t about changing who we are, it’s about ensuring our identity supports clearer, more consistent communications in an increasingly fast paced digital landscape.

We’ve never before established a cohesive visual identity at this level. This marks an important step in how we present ourselves to the world, and it will help make design and content decisions more efficient and aligned across everything we do.

We’re immensely grateful to Brian at LANDS Studio for his creative insight and guidance throughout this process. The rebrand will roll out gradually across our website, social platforms, publications, merchandise and events. So if you still spot our old logo here and there, don’t worry. We’re moving forward step by step.

This is just the beginning. There’s much more to be revealed as we evolve our brand across all areas of our work, so stay tuned.

Together, we’re building a future where wild nature thrives.
