The IWT People for Bees programme had a great opening weekend to National Biodiversity Week, with a double bill of bee monitoring workshops. We were in St Enda’s park in Rathfarnham Co Dublin on Saturday and in Letterkenny Institute of Technology on Sunday. Both bee monitoring events were free of charge and open to all, thanks to funding from the Irish Environmental Network and Donegal County Council.
At the workshop participants learned about Ireland’s bees and how to identify and monitor them. We were delighted to find selection of bumblebees in the grounds of St Enda’s Park and Letterkenny IT campus.
